We know that God is faithful. It's highlighted in our Bibles and sung in our songs. Yet there are moments when we see it in action that make us stop and marvel at his faithfulness.
Last Sunday Sylvie and I were taking a walk. In fact we wanted to walk fast and get some exercise. 10 minutes into the walk we stop to talk with a couple we hadn't seen for a couple of years. The hour long conversation ranged from President Obama's Nobel Prize, to health care in the US and France, to cultural differences, to Lectio Divina. That last one raised our eyebrows too. Thankfully through my friendship with Jonny Baker I knew about it and had used variations in our worship at the CEP...
What was clear is this couple, who had once been active at the CEP and then because of a lot of reasons had drifted away from the church and an active expression of their faith, were now rediscovering something. They wanted us to know that their faith was active and growing.
Our encounter pointed towards God's great faithfulness and was not an isolated occurrence last Sunday. God is at work all the time and we have the privilege of seeing it all around us.
